Getting to The Day Centre
Most people travel in on the Day Centre bus. The bus has a lift for wheelchairs, safely clamping down wheelchairs so there is no need to transfer from your wheelchair to the bus seat. There is always a Passenger Assistant on the bus who will provide assistance from your own front door and back again safely after the Day Centre.
You will be picked up from your home in the morning and brought home afterwards. We will tell you what time to expect us. We will ensure you get help to get in and out of the bus and right to your front door safely if you need it. The price of the bus is included in your daily payment.
Some people travel using the Volunteer Car Scheme. You can find out about this by contacting Colleen Praill on 01620 894942.
Or you can make your own arrangements. If you are coming by car, there are 2 disabled parking spaces opposite the Day Centre and a drop off point outside the front door (unless the bus is there). Parking can be difficult at busy times, but we would appreciate it if you keep to public parking spaces and not park in nearby private parking spaces.
After a successful fundraising campaign in 2014, we reached and exceeded our target and our new bus arrived on 17 March 2015.
